Our approach

No teachers. No bosses.

How the journey works, who it is for and how to apply.

Freesponsibility

Freedom to decide, paired with responsibility for the outcome. Take on more and you gain more say.

Real roles

There is no fixed curriculum. Running accounts or logistics teaches what a classroom can't.

Own goals

Nobody sets targets for you. You choose yours and plan the steps with a coach.

The journey

Six steps.

01

Scholar selection

Team activities show each applicant's strengths.

02

Applied Social Innovation

SINA calls it the Confusion Stage. Old limiting beliefs and the fear of failing give way to purpose.

Past hardship often gains meaning here and points to a problem worth solving.

03

Emerging

Interests turn into ideas, and ideas into teams. Each team listens to the people a problem affects before shaping an answer.

04

Concentration

The lean startup approach: only real customers can say if an idea works, so teams prototype fast, fail fast and improve.

The target is at least 150 USD of revenue a month.

05

Linking

With traction in hand, teams find partners and finance, register and get ready to operate beyond our walls.

06

SINA Acceleration

The strongest ventures can enter a six-month program run by SINA to grow and hire.

Along the way

The tools we use.

  • Life coaching and one-on-one sessions.
  • Business mentoring for each team.
  • Weekly presentations that build confidence.
  • Bootcamps, at Lazima and with sister communities.
  • Pitches to panels that give honest feedback.
  • A comfort zone challenge to face a fear head on.
